John,
Across the state, Kansas women are wearing red to symbolize the steps they're taking to make their heart health a priority. Heart disease kills 1 in 3 women across the country every year. It's a preventable disease, but, unfortunately, thousands of Kansas women aren't able to take the steps to prevent it because of the lack of affordable healthcare.
Every woman in Kansas should have access to quality, affordable healthcare in order to put her health first -- but that's just not the reality right now. I'm proud of the work we've done to expand KanCare across the state, but now it's up to our leaders in the Kansas legislature to take the steps to expand affordable healthcare for all.
My commitment as governor has always been to ensure access to quality healthcare for all Kansans, and National Wear Red Day is the best time to recommit to that fight.
If you're with me, add your name to join me in the fight to ensure all women have access to affordable healthcare.
