This week, during the opening of American Legion Post 139 in Arlington,
Governor Glenn Youngkin rolled out the Gold-Standard Digital Hub which will
improve connectivity and access to resources and benefits for veterans,
transitioning service members, and their families.

This week, Governor Youngkin announced the 2024 Virginia Teacher of the Year
award winner, Jeffrey Keller, a social studies teacher at John Handley High
School and celebrated all the amazing educators from across the Commonwealth.

In celebration of National Asian American and Pacific Islander Month, the
Governor and First Lady welcomed Virginia Asian Advisory Board members,
entrepreneurs and leaders in health, finance, academia, public service and
education to the Executive Mansion. Appreciation to this group for their mighty
contributions, and special thanks to Secretary of the Commonwealth Kay Coles
James for her leadership.

Congratulations to the University of Virginia Women’s Swimming & Diving team
on their outstanding accomplishments. The Governor and First Lady invited this
year’s team to the Executive Mansion to celebrate their national win – making
them the fifth program to win three consecutive NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving
Championships. Cheers to these women for shining a light on Virginia.

The First Lady gathered with nearly 150 women in Hampton Roads to strengthen a
spirit of togetherness and celebrate the community’s commitment to military
service and emergency response. She shared developments from the Governor’s Day
Two accomplishments and priorities, her initiative to Strengthen the Spirit of
Virginia’s Women+girls and exciting happenings within the First Lady’s office
celebrating women across Virginia.

This week in Virginia Beach, Governor Youngkin expressed his gratitude for our
law enforcement heroes that serve and protect our families and communities.



The Governor and First Lady paid respects and honored the law enforcement
professionals who made the ultimate sacrifice with courage, integrity, valor,
honor, and pride.

This week, Governor Youngkin gave the commencement address at Virginia
Military Institute. He reminded them that together, they have built the pillars
of life required of heroes: honor, service, and courage.



Later in the week he addressed the largest graduating class in George Mason
University’s history and urged them to go out into a world that needs their
vision, their strong foundation, their resiliency and their passion with
confidence.
