Weekly Newsletter: Former Rep. Joe Cunningham (D-SC), who was an incredible ally for No Labels during his time in Congress as a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, is now taking on an essential role as our National Director.

Hi Friend,

This week No Labels was proud to add another MVP to our growing roster of superstar leaders. Former Rep. Joe Cunningham (D-SC), who was an incredible ally for No Labels during his time in Congress as a member of the Problem Solvers Caucus, is now taking on an essential role as our National Director. As National Director, Joe will be leading our efforts across the country to build a grassroots movement of citizens like you who are ready to put their country before their political party.

Here's what Joe had to say about his new role in an op-ed ([link removed] ) published this week in his hometown paper:

“Every accomplishment I had in Congress, and every accomplishment anyone had during my two years in a divided government, came from working with the other side. That is precisely why I support a movement based on this very idea of working together.

“In my farewell speech to the House of Representatives in 2020, I toasted a beer to ‘the spirit of bipartisanship and cooperation,” saying that “for the betterment of this country, we have to come together, we have to sit down and listen to each other, and maybe even have a beer.’ I took that same message home to South Carolina as the Democratic nominee for governor in 2022. Now, it’s time to take it national.”

Joe is coming on board as No Labels continues to grow and thrive as a national coalition of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents ready to unify and focus on solving the most pressing problems facing our nation.

In his first week, Joe has already been engaging with our community and he’s looking forward to continuing to get to know you in the coming weeks.

Joe and the entire No Labels team are so grateful for your continued support and commitment to this exciting journey that we’re on together to change the status quo and build a home in our politics where cooperation and compromise are celebrated instead of demonized. You have the power to make a difference too! Your support, whether big or small, fuels our mission and helps us break free from partisan politics. Your contribution to No Labels 2024 will have a real impact, paving the way for genuine solutions. ([link removed] )

As always, we welcome your feedback and ideas. Always feel free to reach out to us on our social media platforms. We're here to listen and learn from you.

Thank you for being a part of the No Labels community. We're looking forward to what we can achieve together.

No Labels is making history, and we want you to be part of it! We're working hard to build the launching pad for a potential independent Unity presidential ticket – featuring one Democrat and one Republican – in 2024. Forces within the two major parties have already registered their objections to this project, but they're only displaying a disconnect with how the country feels.

Five Facts on Discharge Petitions ([link removed] )

As President Biden cuts his Asia-Pacific trip short to return to Washington for face-to-face negotiations to lift the debt ceiling, Democratic members of the House of Representatives continue to call for using a “discharge petition” as a backup plan to raise if negotiations fail. This little-known and rarely used legislative maneuver could bring a debt ceiling bill to the floor of the House of Representatives for a vote without the approval of congressional leadership, but what happens next remains to be seen. Here are Five Facts about the discharge petition and how it may be used to end the debt ceiling crisis and avoid default.
