Call 811 Before You Dig

Shovel in a pile of dirt

The Board of Public Utilities reminds everyone to call 811 a few days before doing any home or commercial digging projects.

Neglecting to call 811 is dangerous. 40% of homeowners who plan to dig do not plan to call 811 before starting, putting themselves and others at risk. 811 is a free service.

Hand with heart floating above

The Department of Human Services has restarted eligibility reviews for NJ FamilyCare, which will cause some individuals who are no longer eligible to be disenrolled from the program.

Those who no longer qualify for NJ FamilyCare because their income is too high may be able to obtain quality, affordable health coverage through Get Covered New Jersey during a special enrollment period.

NJ FamilyCare members should make it a priority to confirm or update their contact information by calling NJ FamilyCare at 1-800-701-0710 (TTY: 711). NJ FamilyCare will use this information to send renewal packets to members. NJ FamilyCare will mail renewal packets to all members between April 1st, 2023 and March 31st, 2024.

The Public Health Emergency Is Over, COVID-19 and Other Respiratory Viruses Are Not

COVID virus

New Jerseyans are encouraged to continue taking necessary precautions to keep themselves and their loved ones healthy. Though the federal public health emergency for COVID-19 has ended, COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses are still among us.

Take common sense measures to protect yourself and the people around you. This includes coughing or sneezing into your sleeve, washing your hands, staying home when you're sick, and considering a mask if you or someone you're spending time with is at high risk of severe illness. Residents who are over 65 or immunocompromised are encouraged to stay up-to-date on COVID-19 vaccinations, including receiving the updated bivalent COVID-19 booster when eligible.

COVID-19 vaccines remain free and available to everyone. Find locations offering COVID-19 vaccines and boosters on the COVID-19 Vaccine Finder and Community Calendar. If symptoms appear, get tested for COVID-19. Testing is offered for free at certain sites around New Jersey. In addition, until May 31st or while supplies last, every U.S. household is eligible to order up to four free at-home test kits at www.covid.gov/tests.

As always, keep children home from school and child care centers if they are feeling unwell.
