John – This week I offered my thoughts on the bombshell Durham Report that exposed how political hacks within the Justice Department and the Clinton campaign sought to create the bogus “Russian collusion” narrative to destroy Donald Trump. I also debunked the lies Democrats in Washington are spreading about debt ceiling negotiations and highlighted the new cartel task force that I will lead in Congress. As always, thank you for your support. Now, here’s your brief: THE DURHAM REPORT CONFIRMS WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW The Durham report released this week is absolutely damning. It shows that key actors within the FBI ignored protocol to pursue a faux Russian collusion narrative, all for the purpose of taking down President Trump. Political hacks like Lisa Page, Peter Strzok, John Brennan, and others exposed in this report are responsible for irreparable harm to this country and core institutions like the FBI. This report (nearly four years in the making) highlights what was obvious to all of us. Millions of taxpayer dollars were wasted investigating lies. We now know that 1) Hillary Clinton approved and orchestrated the Russia collusion narrative, which Obama knew about and 2) Our government paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Russian behind the Steele dossier. Included in the report is the stunning revelation that Hillary Clinton personally approved the creation of the “Russian collusion” narrative, that Russian intelligence operatives knew she was doing this to undermine Donald Trump, and that then-President Obama and his top intelligence officials were briefed on all of it. The Durham Report states that in August of 2016, CIA Director John Brennan briefed Obama, Biden, and other top Democrats on Hillary Clinton’s plan to create a disinformation campaign about Trump colluding with Russia in the election. The report states: “On August 3, 2016, within days of receiving the Clinton Plan intelligence, Director Brennan met with the President, Vice President and other senior Administration officials, including but not limited to the Attorney General (who participated remotely) and the FBI Director, in the White House Situation Room to discuss Russian election interference efforts. According to Brennan's handwritten notes and his recollections from the meeting, he briefed on relevant intelligence known to date on Russian election interference, including the Clinton Plan intelligence. Specifically, Director Brennan's declassified handwritten notes reflect that he briefed the meeting's participants regarding the "alleged approval by Hillary Clinton on 26 July of a proposal from one of her [campaign] advisors to vilify Donald Trump by stirring up a scandal claiming interference by the Russian security services.” The Durham Report also confirms that the FBI completely ignored the possibility that the Steele Dossier was Russian disinformation. It’s even documented that the FBI proposed “future payments” to Danchenko (the primary sub-source of the Steele Dossier) after they discovered lies about his claims and sources. These “future payments” tell us one thing: they were paying for silence and compliance. They all knew this was a false narrative, created by Clinton to defeat Donald Trump, and yet Brennan and others went before Congress and on national television to spread the lie further. They were fully aware that this story was fabricated by the Clinton campaign, but continued to perpetuate the lie as Democrats continued to waste time and taxpayer money with the Trump investigation. More disturbing is the fact that this report demonstrates how unelected, subversive actors within the highest levels of our government sought to destroy a duly-elected president they hated. They weaponized a lie – knowing the media would breathlessly regurgitate that lie – in order to take Donald Trump out of the White House. There must be consequences for this. That, of course, is a lie. Here’s the truth: House Republicans already increased the debt limit. We did it last month, with the Limit, Save, Grow Act that passed the House with only Republican votes. In fact, we are still the only ones in Washington who have taken ANY action when it comes to lifting the debt ceiling. The Limit, Save, Grow Act raises the debt ceiling while offering common sense solutions to rein in out-of-control spending, make it easier to bring new energy projects online, and stop the abuse of certain welfare programs. Democrats, led by Joe Biden, have acted irresponsibly and irrationally throughout this process. First, Joe Biden made the ridiculous promise that he would not negotiate over the debt limit—he refused to even meet with Speaker McCarthy for 100 days. Then, once he realized that Republicans actually acted to raise the debt limit, Joe Biden sat down with McCarthy but still refused to compromise or agree on sensible spending cuts. This is no way to lead in a divided government. Republicans did our job—we raised the debt limit while ensuring we do not continue down the path of out-of-control spending. Democrats, on the other hand, have engaged in political brinkmanship and are risking the first-ever default on our debt. That is the truth, and Democrats need to come to the negotiating table in good faith so we can avoid a fiscal crisis at the hands of Joe Biden and Democrats in Congress.
