This week we celebrated National Police Week! I was honored to kick off the week with a visit from Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes and team.

I’m so grateful for our men and women in blue who put their lives on the line each day to keep our CA-40 communities safe. I will always back the blue and keep working in Congress to equip our law enforcement with the resources they need to do their dangerous, demanding jobs. 

Freedom is not free. Thank you to the brave men and women who have answered the call to serve in our nation’s uniform and protect our freedoms.

During National Police Week, we celebrate the brave men and women who keep our communities safe.

This week, I spoke on the House Floor to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. My heart is with the loved ones and colleagues of Riverside County Sheriff's Office Deputy Brett Harris, who left us too soon.

Thank you to Orange County Supervisors Don Wagner and Andrew Do for stopping by to discuss how we can work together to make our Orange County communities prosperous, safe, and more affordable.

This week, I introduced the Comprehensive Southern Border Strategy Act to direct DHS to submit a comprehensive strategy within 12 months of enactment to the House Committee on Homeland Security and Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

Border security is national security, and I am proud to work in a bipartisan way to ensure that our federal government –regardless of who is leading the administration –makes border security a priority and evaluates how we can best secure operational control of every mile of our border.

This week, I questioned Silicon Valley Bank and First Republic Bank Former CEOs on recent bank failures at a Financial Services Committee hearing.

I will continue pressing for accountability and transparency so we can ensure this doesn’t happen again.

I met with the Western Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority team this week to discuss how we can protect plants and animals in CA-40 and the region.

I led an Indo-Pacific Subcommittee hearing titled “Standing United Standing United Against the People’s Republic of China’s Economic Aggression and Predatory Practices.”

It is unacceptable for the CCP to limit American’s free speech, and even more unacceptable that the CCP can do it without consequences.

We cannot allow foreign drug manufacturers, money launderers, and cartel organizations to continue to profit and rake in billions of dollars as American people suffer across communities from the fentanyl epidemic.

I introduced the Stop Fentanyl Money Laundering Act, to help us dismantle these robust money laundering operation networks and hold those responsible accountable.

This week, at a Financial Services Committee Hearing, I called out regulators for lack of oversight on bank failures.

The failure of these California banks is a testament to inflation having real-life and long-term consequences. Instead of working to combat inflation, the Biden administration missed crucial time to tame inflation, calling it ‘transitory’ in nature and implementing expansionary policies that made inflation worse. I have been in close contact with California financial institutions and depositors and will keep working to ensure Americans can trust the safety and resiliency of our banking system.

Glad I got to sit down and meet with Southern California business owners including Amir Hassan from CA-40, about how their businesses are producing more eco-friendly biofuels and employment opportunities in our community.

Our Vietnam-era veterans answered the call to serve in our nation’s uniform and defend our freedoms we hold dear, but unfortunately did not often receive the recognition they deserved. As a wife and sister to U.S. Army veterans, supporting our veterans is personal to me.

I am proud to show our gratitude to our Vietnam-era veterans and POWs 50 years after the last U.S. troops left Vietnam. I will always fight to protect the benefits our veterans and their families have earned as we honor them and their service.

State champions! Huge congratulations to our Laguna Hills High School Football team and Head Coach John Lester for taking home the CIF Division 3A title.

Keep making our Laguna Hills community and CA-40 proud. One town, one team. Go Hawks!

Thank you to the local veteran organizations that presented at the American Legion Post 132 in Orange to homeschool children from all over Orange County the importance of Memorial Day, the history of our flag, and the stories of those who have served and gave everything for our freedoms.

Congratulations to the Orange Home Grown Farmers and Artisans Market scholarship and volunteer award recipients!

This nonprofit organization hosts a farmers and artisan market sourced from our Orange County community on Saturdays in Orange. Be sure to check it out one weekend!

Glad I was able to meet and speak to Biola University students who traveled from Southern California for a DC study tour.
