During my State of the State Address last month, I said that if anyone had any doubts that we were going to do everything we can do to protect our children: Watch us.

Today, I kept my promise and signed background checks and a red flag gun law into Minnesota law. 

The truth is these are common-sense measures that should have been enacted a long time ago, but NRA-backed Republicans obstructed us at every turn. But no more.

As I said at the beginning of this year: The era of gridlock in Saint Paul is over. And it’s all because of people like you who made their voices heard loud and clear last November.
