Back The Blue 🚔

It’s National Police Week
<[link removed]>, a time to
rally around the fantastic men and women who protect and serve.

I can’t thank our police officers enough for putting their lives on the line
every day. Our communities are better off because they’re on the front lines,
and I’ve got their back, no matter what.

This week I voted on several pieces of legislation that are all centered
around keeping America safe, saving some hard-earned taxpayer dollars, and
showing appreciation for these brave folks who put it all on the line every day.

* The Protect Our Law Enforcement with Immigration Control and Enforcement
(POLICE) Act is all abouttaking immediate action
<[link removed]>
to deport illegal aliens who have been convicted of or admitted to assaulting
a police officer.
* Next, we’ve got a bill that would save American taxpayers around $8
million. The Federal Law Enforcement Service Weapon Purchase Act would allow
officers tobuy their retired service weapons
<[link removed]>
at a fair market price instead of the federal government wasting money to
destroy them.
* H. Con. Res. 40 is all about backing the blue and condemning any efforts
to defund <[link removed]> or
dismantle our local law enforcement agencies. This is especially important when
you consider how Democrats have often demonized these heroes in an attempt to
cut funding from local police departments.
When all is said and done, you’ll find me fighting the good fight for our
police and standing up for those who risk it all when they put on that uniform.

Fighting For Fiscal Responsibility 💰

If you’re driving around Tennessee and an all-black license plate
<[link removed]>
catches your eye, it’s for an interesting cause you probably wouldn’t guess.

Tennessee has a new custom license plate option that benefits the Millennial
Debt Foundation, <[link removed]> a nonprofit on a mission
to educate the public on the need for fiscal stewardship in government.

In other words, stop the frivolous spending! This is something I’ve been
saying all along.

Designed and manufactured in Tennessee, this license plate is all about
emphasizing the fact that less is more. We can’t continue to spend more dadgum
money than we have.

It’s encouraging to see my fellow Tennesseans taking a stand on this important
issue <[link removed]>.
