Representative Greene wasn't even using a dog whistle — it was a bullhorn, putting a racist target on my back to her MAGA supporters.
Hey John, it's Congressman Jamaal Bowman. I just want to make one thing clear:
In her press conference in front of countless reporters Marjorie Taylor Greene said something incredibly dangerous — calling me "aggressive" and saying she feels "threatened" by me.
Representative Greene wasn't even using a dog whistle — it was a bullhorn, putting a racist target on my back to her MAGA supporters. It echoes what happened with Emmitt Till and with Mike Brown, and unfortunately this country has a history of characterizing Black men who are outspoken, who stand their ground, or who push back as being "threatening" or "intimidating."
While Republicans claim that gender affirming care, African American history, and childrens' books are stripping our country of its safety and security — our nation is at war with assault weapons and we're losing more and more innocent lives every day.
Marjorie Taylor Greene is a white supremacist. Describing somebody's beliefs — which are clear for everybody to see — isn't "like calling a person of color the n word," no matter what false equivalencies she might draw.
This behavior is dangerous and reckless — but we can't let it stop our movement for progressive change.
We must ALL continue to speak truth to power, and I'll keep standing up to right-wing extremists. If you're with me, will you split a donation between Pramila and my campaign today?
