We’re thrilled to share the news with People For members that Nancy Abudu, President Biden’s nominee for the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, has been confirmed by the Senate!
This historic confirmation will make Nancy Abudu the first Black female judge to ever serve on the 11th Circuit. Her confirmation has been 17 long months in the making, but thanks to the tireless and continued advocacy of members like you, the Senate voted yesterday to confirm her.
Judge Abudu’s extensive and sterling legal credentials will make her an outstanding judge in upholding and protecting the constitutional and legal rights of everyday Americans.
While we celebrate this momentous victory, we continue advocating for the swift confirmation of President Biden’s other nominees to fill more than 90 other judicial vacancies across the country.

We’ve witnessed how far conservative, MAGA judges are willing to backtrack on all the progress we’ve made. In the past few years, they’ve allowed the expulsion of asylum seekers, sanctioned abortion bans, and rejected challenges to discrimination against the LGBTQ community. With fair judges, we can have a justice system that works for all of us.
