It's just common sense, but it bears repeating: Abortion access reduces the number of people who die or are injured trying to end a pregnancy with unsafe methods.

Global evidence shows that abortion access can also save the lives of people who have miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies and other life-threatening pregnancy complications. When someone dies because they couldn't access safe abortion care, the harmful impacts ripple across that person's community.
