Hey John,

We’ve seen a surge in interest in our anti-corruption work recently. Here’s some data: Our website saw a 265% increase in views last week. Here are some reasons why.

We filed several groundbreaking complaints.

- We filed a campaign finance complaint against former Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker after news broke that he solicited $600,000 to help his campaign from a billionaire donor and directed more than $500,000 of it to his personal business.

- We called on the Department of Justice and Chief Justice John Roberts for an immediate investigation into whether Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas broke the law with his undisclosed payments from billionaire Republican megadonor Harlan Crow.

- We sent a complaint to the Federal Election Commission after discovering Rep. George Santos’s listed treasurer Andrew Olson doesn’t appear to exist.

And in a major step for CREW, we sent a letter demanding Justice Thomas resign after a series of huge scandals involving Crow.

CREW experts were also all over the news on a wide variety of ongoing issues.

- The Daily Beast spotlighted CREW’s complaint demanding the FEC investigate Herschel Walker’s money scandal.

- Yahoo Finance spoke to CREW Deputy Director Donald Sherman on the importance of Congress banning lawmakers from trading stocks and the effect of bank collapses on the issue.

- The New Yorker cited CREW in their article examining the payments and gifts given to Ginni and Clarence Thomas by Harlan Crow.

- The Washington Post used emails obtained by CREW to break the news that several individual donors were willing to fund Donald and Melania Trump’s official portraits, but the Smithsonian ultimately accepted a $650,000 contribution from Trump’s Save America PAC.

We continued to publish expert analysis and important investigations.

- We explained how Clarence Thomas’s SCOTUS decisions have been benefiting wealthy donors like Harlan Crow for decades.

- According to our count, 9 out of 10 Republicans remained silent after Donald Trump called for the termination of the Constitution last December.

- Secret Service records obtained by CREW revealed that just three of Steve Mnuchin’s Middle East business trips after Trump’s presidency cost the Secret Service $253,000.

- We uncovered that a GOP-tied “green” group appears to have violated its tax-exempt status via excessive political spending in 2020 before trying to defeat climate legislation.

We know you’ve been with us long before these current scandals—and we want to thank you for your long term support. We’re able to keep up this good government work and spread important awareness thanks to supporters like you. We hope you’ll consider making a contribution toward our many fights to protect our democracy, and to help us keep up this great momentum. →
