Kids to Parks Day - May 20
Kids to Parks Day is a national day of outdoor play celebrated annually. The day connects kids and families with local, state, and national parks and public lands through thousands of park events promoting discovery and exploration in the great outdoors. Celebrate with us as you make your DIY kite to fly across our city parks!
The event will be hosted on the west lawn of Hurst Community Park (601 Precinct Line Rd. Hurst, 76053) starting at 9 a.m. on May 20. Kites and water will be given out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

HEB Reads Annual Kick-off - May 20
Join us this Saturday, May 20, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Pennington Field (1501 Central Dr., Bedford) for the HEB Reads Annual Kick-Off! This FREE family event is filled with books, music, crafts, live animals, and so much fun!
Saturday marks the official start of our Summer Reading Club, Wild About Reading! Registration begins May 20 at HEB Reads, in person at Hurst Public Library, or online.

Utility Box Art Project - Phase 2
*✨*Applications for phase two of the Utility Box Art Project are being accepted until June 1!✨
Applications submitted under the theme, "The Building Blocks of Hurst," can include any design inspired by Hurst, including but not limited to Bell Helicopter, L.D. Bell High School, Tarrant County College Northeast Campus, North East Mall, veterans, first responders, and frontline workers.

Aquatics Opening Day is May 27!
We're excited to kick off the aquatics season on May 27 at Chisholm Aquatics Center! Enjoy open swim from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. through Memorial Day. This summer, we are offering a rotating operational schedule that offers open swim hours at Chisholm and Central Aquatic Centers.
The 2023 operating schedule includes the following:
*Chisholm Aquatics Center hours of operation are:*
• M/W/F: 12-8 p.m.
• Sat/Sun: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
*Central Aquatics Center hours of operation are:*
• T/Th: 12-5 p.m.
We look forward to seeing you at the pools this summer!

Non-emergency city offices will be closed on May 29 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
Trash and recycling are unaffected by this holiday closure. Emergency services will operate as normal.
