Dear Friend,
In 2020, Oregon voters did something no US state has done before: They passed the nation’s first measure to decriminalize drug possession and expand access to addiction services and other social supports.
So far, more than 60,000 people have avoided the harm of a drug arrest and received additional support, including substance use disorder treatment, health and harm reduction services, and housing.
It’s a great start. But as you know, there is much more work to be done.
If you want to be part of more victories like the one in Oregon in other states and at the federal level, I urge you to join the Drug Policy Alliance today—when every dollar you give will be matched up to $75,000!

The passage of Measure 110 was just the beginning.
Now we are pushing for similar progress in other states—not just ending criminal penalties for drug possession, but also investing in health and addiction services.
I truly believe we are at a tipping point in this vital work, and we can’t miss this opportunity to fundamentally change our approach to drugs.
Please join DPA before the end of our fiscal year on May 31 to double its value.

These approaches aren’t just the right thing to do—they’re also broadly popular. Polling shows that Americans from across the political spectrum now support drug decriminalization, as well as harm reduction strategies like overdose prevention centers.
This is our chance! Help push for the reforms we desperately need by becoming a member of DPA today.

Executive Director
P.S. With the support of advocates like you, DPA is leading the fight to replace the US war on drugs with policies grounded in health, equity, and human rights. Together we are making a difference, but we need your help to build on our momentum! Drug policies continue to hurt people every day in communities across the country. Please, if you can, donate now—your fiscal year-end gift today will double in value to help make real change.
