John,

Happy Endangered Species Day. Today is a day to celebrate all the imperiled species the Endangered Species Act has protected in the past 50 years — and take action on their behalf.

These iconic critters are hanging on in just a small fragment of their historic range in the lower 48. Illegal killings, dwindling food sources, and habitat destruction are major threats to their survival.

Taking away their federal protection would make the situation even worse by leaving grizzly management to states — which opens the door to trophy hunting. The last time these bears lost federal protection, states rushed to approve hunting seasons.

We can’t let that happen. Tell the Service you oppose stripping from these majestic bears: [link removed]
