Spending time outdoors isn’t just a pastime for New Mexicans, folks: It’s a way of life.

That’s why I introduced the Living Schoolyards Act to turn our schoolyards into learning environments for students in the Land of Enchantment and across the country.

This legislation will support school communities who want to explore and learn in the outdoors — from helping plant more trees, to taking tablet learning outside with Wi-Fi and charging stations, to even simply installing more seating in the schoolyard.
