[1]Cori Bush

John,

Yesterday, in a long overdue effort to atone for the hundreds of years of
racism, discrimination and violence facing Black Americans, Cori
introduced a bill calling for $14 trillion in reparations.

Americans.

This is just the latest in a long line of efforts in Congress to
compensate Black Americans for centuries of injustice. We have a moral and
legal obligation to provide reparations for our communities, which
continue to suffer from the vestiges of slavery and the racist policies
that followed.

Today, we continue to see this racial inequity by way of the 'War on
Drugs', racial wealth gap, voter suppression targeting the Black vote,
infant and maternal mortality rates, negative health outcomes for Black
people, police brutality and other forms of state-sanctioned violence.

Reparations are just one component in the wider push to ensure equlity for
Black Americans. That's why Cori has taken the lead in advocating and
organizing around criminal justice reform, a $15 minimum wage, Medicare
for All, a Green New Deal and more.

us all. Will you stand with Cori today and pitch in to fuel our movement's
efforts to ensure justice and equity for all?

The treatment endured by Black people in the United States wouldn't happen
in a just, fair, and equitable society. What we see today is directly
caused by our country's role in the enslavement and exploitation of Black
people throughout history.

In order to become the thriving democracy we often claim to be, now is the
time to begin the process of atoning for our dark past. We have the choice
and opportunity to achieve real justice for our communities and throughout
her career, Cori has been at the forefront of the wider movement for
racial equality.

[ [link removed] ]Can you chip in today to power our movement's work to guarantee our
communities justice and equity?

Thank you for taking the time to read. And as always, thank you for your
support.

In solidarity,

— Team Cori
