MAY 2023

Since our WWII-era founding, the Ad Council’s Washington Conference has given us the opportunity to collaborate with every White House administration – on both sides of the aisle – to discuss key social issues and drive meaningful change. This year’s conference was an opportunity for us to engage with top D.C. leaders, policymakers and media, as well as a moment of appreciation to our Board, industry partners and social impact partners, whose collaboration allows us to address these issues at scale.

At the conference, we also introduced 19 new Board members and our incoming Chief Media Officer DJ Perera. Their guidance and support will be critical as we raise awareness and create meaningful change.

Back in the office, our mental health work gets a boost through an exciting partnership with Sesame Workshop, and we announced new research on trust in elections.

Washington Conference Recap: Bold Solutions and Invaluable Insights

The Washington Conference is a unique tradition that reflects our long history of working with every White House administration since our founding era in the 1940s. During the most recent conference, held in April, our Board members and leadership heard from prominent journalists from NPR, NBC, PBS, Fox News, The New York Times, and The Washington Post on topics including polarization, politics, the upcoming election cycle, and the Supreme Court. We also met with top West Wing staff from the Biden-Harris Administration—including a special session with Vice President Kamala Harris. Check out the highlights!
