Dear Friend,

Delivering for Texas is my main focus. I’m so happy to share that I secured $1 million in federal funding for the Resource Center’s new senior housing development, Oak Lawn Place. For forty years, the Resource Center has been serving Dallas’ LGBTQ+ communities as well as people affected by HIV by providing critical health, education and support resources. The Resource Center broke ground on this new facility just last week, and this facility will help to transform the way older LGBTQ+ folks live, access services and develop community support for generations to come.

Oak Lawn Place will provide much-needed affordable housing for Dallas’ growing senior LGBTQ+ population. I was proud to secure $1 million for this project along with nine others aimed at addressing local needs, creating jobs and growing the local economy. 

I will continue to find ways to deliver for North Texans and I look forward to seeing Oak Lawn Place when it opens.
