Despite the constant back-and-forth between legislators, abortion isn’t a political fight, folks – it’s a personal one.

That message gets lost easily when Republicans are hellbent on attacking our rights. But let me be clear: The abortion bans in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and more aren’t policy-focused, they’re about control over the health and well-being of millions .

Amanda Zurawski is one of five women suing Texas over the state’s six-week abortion ban.

She recently gave a moving testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee about how she was denied an abortion by healthcare providers, and because of the ban, her life was put at severe risk.

I think about stories like Amanda’s every day. How millions of lives are on the line because Republican lawmakers believe it’s their right to intervene in a woman’s personal health choices.

We must come together to enshrine abortion rights into federal law, folks.
