I just announced my campaign for Congress in California's 41st District.

I want to share more about what we learned in my last race and why we now have an even stronger path to unseating Ken Calvert. But first, we set an ambitious goal of reaching 2,500 Founding Donors to start this campaign with strength.

Here it goes:

I've seen firsthand how extremism and political corruption pose serious threats to our democracy. My opponent Ken Calvert doesn't just enable MAGA extremism; he has a long track record of abusing power for personal gain.

I ran because our country deserves better, and I was proud to see that the people of CA-41 agreed.

Despite the tough midterm environment, our campaign ended up being one of the top three “most overperforming” Democratic challenger campaigns in the country. I was the only challenger in California to win the Independent vote, and for the first time in his 30-year career, Ken Calvert's record was finally exposed in our community.

And things are much different (for the better) in 2024.

Democrats now hold a +3,000 registration advantage in this district. Last month, National Democrats listed CA-41 as one of the “top offensive targets” in our shared effort to retake the House.

Running again was not a decision I made lightly. But the truth is the same threats we faced two years ago are still present -- even more so with Donald Trump back on the ballot and Republicans in control of Congress.

This campaign is our chance to reject extremists like Calvert, retake the House, and put this district -- and our country -- back on track.
