The full Silver Line may not open until 2021

While construction on the Silver Line may conclude as soon as September 2020, the line may not fully open until 2021. Delays are expected, as issues such as software problems continue to push the opening of the full line back.  (Max Smith / WTOP)

Parking disputes delay work on NIH campus

Concerns and disagreements over parking at the NIH campus extension have stalled the project. The issue stems from changes needed to a proposed parking garage which the National Capital Planning Commission stated is too large and does not meet a state parking to staff ratio, while the NIH argues that the parking is necessary and does not violate any caps.  (Business Journal / Sara Gilgore)

Virginia opens the door to service, cost changes to Metro

The Virginia House of Delegates voted to remove a cap on subsidy increases for Metro service increases. If passed into law, the move could increase funding for Metro, though costs would be paid by local governments, not the state.  (Max Smith / WTOP)

Howard University Hospital has secured new management

Howard University has entered into a deal with Adventist HealthCare in which Adventist will assume management of Howard University Hospital. Virginia considers giving drivers licenses to undocumented residents

Virginia is considering a bill that would allow undocumented residents to obtain drivers license, a change that would put it on par with both DC and Maryland, both of which already do so.  (Natalie Delgadillo / DCist)

Dorsey resigns from Metro board

Christian Dorsey resigned from the Metro board Thursday. The Arlington County Board member faced scrutiny for not notifying the Metro board of a campaign donation for four months.   (Patricia Sullivan / Post)
