It’s been a year since we first learned of the Dobbs decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and the GOP has been ramping up their efforts to implement a nationwide ban on abortion ever since.

Since Kevin McCarthy’s extremist GOP took control of the House, they chose to use their first votes in leadership to draw a hard line against reproductive freedom, voting to further restrict abortion access. That’s telling.

And recently, former President Trump said he was ready to “get the job done” on a national abortion ban should he regain power. Long story short: the GOP will stop at nothing to revoke reproductive rights and accessible care, so we must fight back with the same relentlessness.

We cannot waste any more time, or we risk more dangerous and regressive attacks on our own bodies.

There is no question, 2024 will be a tipping point for reproductive rights in the U.S. The party that holds power will make all the difference; defending districts like ours and electing Democrats who will codify Roe is more important than ever.

Even now, GOP-held state legislatures are trying to ban the abortion pill, mifepristone — thanks to an emergency stay, mifepristone is still available in Pennsylvania, but that may not last.
