Dear Friend,
Just yesterday, the North Carolina legislature overrode their Governor’s veto of an extreme and dangerous abortion ban. Now, it takes a supermajority to override a Governor’s veto, and North Carolina Republicans proved – on a strictly party-line vote – that they have no moderates left in their ranks. This bill takes essential medical decisions out of the hands of women and their doctors, and let’s extremist politicians dictate care and treatment.
As South Carolina also moves closer to an abortion ban, Virginia will be the last state in the South to protect abortion and reproductive health care rights.
But Virginia is in danger too. This November, all 140 seats in the General Assembly are up for election. Youngkin has vowed to take control of both the Senate and the House of Delegates. He has also publicly declared that he will sign ANY abortion restrictions that come to his desk.
That vow includes the MAGA extremist bill [[link removed]] introduced this past session that would have banned all abortions in Virginia.
Safe and legal abortion access is on the ballot this November. I promise you that I will do everything in my power to stop Republican, right-wing extremism that threatens to take control of Virginia’s General Assembly.
Please help my reelection efforts and my efforts to ensure that Democrats maintain that brick wall which has successfully stopped dangerous bills for the past two years.
