About the job
As the Claims and Disputes Manager, you will be the principal leader responsible for protecting the interests of the State in public works design and construction contract claims and disputes. You will be responsible for providing coaching and mentoring to project managers in multiple programs on claims and disputes documentation, analyses, and mediation. In this role, you will direct and manage the statewide design and construction quality control and construction claims mitigation for the programs. You will be responsible to provide training, guidance, direction, and develop best practices that enable the programs to consistently meet construction budgets, schedules, and quality objectives. You will develop best practices to address common recurring or systemic issues encountered during the design and construction phases of a project. A major portion of the direction and education process is anticipating issues, weighing alternatives, and educating key project leaders to anticipate and control issues before they happen.
