Dear John,Â
Â
We at The Sentencing Project can't fight mass incarceration on our own.Â
Â
That's why we created the Racial Justice Fund.
Â
Our Racial Justice Fund empowers grassroots advocacy partners across the country to develop successful campaigns, field capacity, and stronger coalitions so we can end mass incarceration – together.Â
Â
Through your generosity, caring, and passion, you can support emerging organizations doing critical work on the ground, from community to community so that the impact of every gift you make to The Sentencing Project is multiplied many times over.Â
Â
Will you multiply your impact today?
Â
When we founded this initiative, we knew that even modest grants would go a long way to increase the capacity and potential of local organizers — many of whom have themselves been directly impacted by the system they’re working to change.
Â
Take Tony, whose own experience while incarcerated motivated his work with the organization Nation Outside to improve jail voting policies in Michigan.
Â
Or Joe, currently incarcerated with a life sentence, who leads the Corrective Clemency Campaign with Parole Illinois, asking Governor Pritzker to address historical injustices of mass incarceration by expanding parole eligibility.Â
Â
Or Sue, a community activist with the Iowa Justice Action Network, who compiled stories of people serving life-without-parole sentences and leveraged them to catalyze reform in the state.
Â
Your support for The Sentencing Project’s work resonates very deeply for all our state and local partners.Â
Â
By starting your monthly gift today, you can show people like Tony, Joe, Sue – and countless others – that you believe the changes they’re fighting for are worth it. You can stand with them, and us, for a more equitable criminal legal system.
