Hi Friend,

Equal pay law in the UK is not fit for purpose. That’s why, this week, we’re launching our Equal Pay Bill to modernise the law. And to make this a reality, we’re asking for your help.

Our proposals, shared in Parliament on Wednesday, would give women who suspect pay discrimination the right to know what a male colleague doing equal work is paid. This would empower women to get the information they need to seek justice without having to go to court first—a huge step forward.

To continue our vital work on equal pay and beyond, we rely on the generosity of our members. We are so grateful for your existing support, but right now we urgently need more funding. That’s why we’re asking you to give £10, or whatever you can afford, today.

Remember Kay? Back in November, Kay (pictured above) helped us get an incredible 55,000 signatures in support of the #RightToKnow. She is one of countless women who are being failed by the UK’s current law on equal pay.

After years of being underpaid for equal work, Kay took her employer to court for pay discrimination and won. But at huge personal loss. "The process cost me a lot of money and confidence,” she says, “and had a severe impact on my health and my family."

It is appalling and heartbreaking that 50 years since the Equal Pay Act, women like Kay should have to suffer and sacrifice so much just to be equally paid—and equally valued—compared to their male counterparts.

A donation from you will help us build cross-party support for our bill and get the government to commit to the changes we’re calling for so that women don’t have to go through the same ordeal as Kay.

Thank you.
