Hi there,

Of our initial six Democratic hold targets to win back the House next year, Rep. Gabe Vasquez won his seat in 2022 by the narrowest margin, ousting Republican Rep. Yvette Herrell by just 1,350 votes.

Yvette Herrell, previously a member of the Freedom Caucus, has already declared her candidacy for 2024, setting up a rematch in a district that flipped blue by just 0.7%. [Supporting Rep. Vasquez and holding NM-02 is critical to winning back the House next year.]([link removed])

Rep. Vasquez and Yvette Herrell’s positions couldn’t be more different:

[NM-02 Rep. Gabe Vasquez]([link removed])

- Supports the right to a safe, legal abortion
- Backs common sense reforms to address gun violence, including universal background checks, red flag laws, and banning assault weapons
- Proponent of a transition to clean energy to protect our environment
- Fights to protect the right for every eligible voter to have access to the ballot

[Potential GOP challenger Yvette Herrell]([link removed])

- Staunchly anti-abortion
- Voted against every gun violence prevention measure during her tenure in the House
- Supported by the fossil fuel industry and denies any link between fossil fuels and climate change
- Voted against legislation protecting the right to vote

[By making a contribution to Rep. Vasquez’s campaign now, you’ll be helping to support the staffing and infrastructure that will make it possible for him to defeat Yvette Herrell or any other Republican challenger and keep NM-02 blue.]([link removed])

This race will be close—and in races like this, early funding can make all of the difference.

The road to winning back the House majority runs through NM-02, and together, we can reelect Rep. Gabe Vasquez and flip the House!
