Democrat Eric Swalwell represents California's 14th Congressional District. 

Last week, CNN hosted a town hall for twice-impeached former president Donald Trump, and friend, it went exactly as you’d expect.

His 90-minute tirade was full of lies, insults to the American people, and of course, his trademark claims of election fraud (which have been debunked and overruled in more than 60 court cases since 2020).

Even more concerning were his thoughts on January 6th: “[The insurrectionists] were there with love in their heart. That was unbelievable — and it was a beautiful day.”

Friend, there’s honestly just too much lunacy to unpack in one email, but I think you get the gist: Donald Trump is fully prepared to use any opportunity, whether on air or in office, to continue chiseling away at the pillars of our democracy and escape accountability for his laundry list of crimes against the American people.

I’m fighting in Congress every day to end this epidemic of MAGA delusion, from defeating Trump’s cronies like Jim Jordan and Marjorie Taylor Greene to keeping the former insurrectionist-in-chief himself out of office. But if we’re going to take back the House and protect our democracy in 2024, we cannot afford to fall behind.
