Last night, a supermajority of Republicans in North Carolina overturned the Governor’s veto to enact a 12-week abortion ban in the state. 

It’s a shame, but it’s no surprise. Republicans have been on a warpath ever since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade almost a year ago. 

This is the outcome women kept screaming about back in 2016, when everyone told us we were “overreacting.” 

We’re tired of our warnings being ignored, so let’s set the record straight: A federal abortion ban is not off the table. Kevin McCarthy and Mitch McConnell have both made it clear they’re in favor, and it’s clear the Supreme Court won’t be on our side. So it’s up to us to stop it before it’s too late.
