John,

Exactly one year ago today, we showed that a multiracial,
multigenerational movement could win a major Democratic primary against
millions in attack ads by billionaires by organizing from the ground up
with a bold, progressive vision.

We defeated corporate super PAC money because we didn’t shy away from a
people-powered, working-class platform. We won because we fought for clean
air and water, Medicare for All, and a quality education for every single
child.

Last night, we built on that progress. My friend and sister rep, Sara
Innamorato, won the Democratic nomination for Allegheny County Executive,
moving one step closer to becoming our first woman Executive. I'm so proud
of Sara, and excited to work together to tackle the issues facing our
community.

On the one-year anniversary of our primary win and on the heels of Sara's
win, I'm hopeful for the future of our progressive movement and the future
of Western Pennsylvania. But that doesn't mean our work stops now.

Next up, we need to build our organizing capacity to ensure Sara wins in
November and our campaign is prepared for 2024. [ [link removed] ]So, I’m asking if
you’ll make a gift today to power this fight ahead. My team set a goal to
bring in 517 donations by midnight tonight, May 17th, and we won't hit
this goal without support from grassroots donors like you.

I see my job as Congresswoman for PA-12 to make sure our community — and
every community across the US — has the resources they need to thrive, not
just survive. That's why I've worked to advance legislation including the
Green New Deal, PRO Act, and the Paycheck Fairness Act during my time in
Congress so far.

But that's not all. My commitment as the first Black Congresswoman from
Pennsylvania is to continue lifting up boundary-breaking candidates with
me. To ensure Allegheny County elects its first woman Executive and that
we end the hold corporate money has on our politics that keeps
working-class and Black and brown folks out of politics.

[ [link removed] ]Our work is just getting started, so if you're with me in this fight
for environmental, economic, and racial justice, will you make a
contribution toward our 517 donations fundraising goal before midnight
tonight? Your donation could be the one to help us hit this goal.

We're hopeful. We're fierce. We're powerful. And we've got much more to
accomplish.

In solidarity and gratitude,

Summer
