Here’s what happened today in court.

Today was the first day of the trial on the one remaining claim in failed gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake’s election contest. The trial is scheduled to last until Friday. Catch up on our live updates here. [link removed]

Here are some updates from yesterday.

Voters in Pennsylvania nominated two candidates for the open state Supreme Court seat. Judge Daniel McCaffery won the Democratic nomination while Judge Carolyn Carluccio won the Republican primary. The two candidates will face off in the general election on Nov. 7. [link removed]

The Oklahoma Legislature sent to Gov. Kevin Stitt (R) a bill that would make it significantly harder for Oklahoma to join the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC), a nonprofit that helps states maintain accurate voter rolls. Multiple Republican-controlled states have left ERIC recently in response to right-wing conspiracy theories. [link removed]

Here’s what to expect coming up.

Tomorrow morning, the U.S. Supreme Court will release opinions in argued cases. The Court may release decisions in any of the cases already argued this term, including the major elections cases Allen v. Milligan and Moore v. Harper. [link removed] [link removed]
