The 2023 legislative session was historic and transformational in so many ways.
And Governor Holcomb is proud of some important updates the legislature took to enact his

2023 Next Level Agenda that will improve and promotethe health of Hoosiers, including:
✅ Appropriating $263 million to fulfill the recommendations of the Governor's Public Health Commission, aimed at improving physical and mental health outcomes for Hoosiers.
✅ $225 million of this total will go directly to support local public health departments that choose to opt-in to a local-state partnership.
✅ Expanding mobile crisis teams and crisis stabilization units and continuing to offer the 988 Crisis and Suicide Lifeline services.
✅ Creating a new system for local law enforcement to refer people to mental health centers instead of jails.
✅ Strategically investing more than $500 million over the coming years from the national opioid settlement in the coming years to create more community substance use programs aimed at helping those suffering from addiction.
✅ Implementing the Governor's Challenge to Prevent Suicide among veterans and service members, partnering with communities, state agencies, and veterans to develop strategies and a prevention plan.
