John,
We have exciting news to share: next Monday, May 22nd, LGBTQ+ Victory Institute will be hosting a Q&A with Montana state Representative Zooey Zephyr and Victory Institute President & CEO Mayor Annise Parker. This event is free and open to all - register and learn more here!
Monday, 5/22
1PM ET / 11AM MDT
As you probably heard, Montana state Representative Zooey Zephyr was censured by her colleagues in the state legislature for her refusal to stay quiet about gender affirming care and trans rights. She stood up to bigots and protested the anti-trans bill that would directly harm herself and her community. Censuring Zooey was both undemocratic and transphobic.
But now, Zooey is going to tell her story in her own words. She's shown us that electing LGBTQ+ candidates is vital to protecting rights – even when it means taking a political position that upsets the majority of the legislative body. Her tenacity and dedication remind us we must always stand for what’s right – even when there are consequences. We are honored to host this Q&A with Zooey as she answers questions from the community and discusses her censure (and more!) with Mayor Annise Parker.
Hope you can join us on Monday,
Elliot Imse
