Dear John,
We’ve told you about Nancy Abudu, a Biden judicial nominee to the federal bench who has a clear record of leftist activism. Senate Democrats are doing all that they can to put radical individuals on the Federal bench, disregarding their extreme leftist bias.
Senator Chuck Schumer just filed cloture on Abudu’s nomination to the United States Eleventh Judicial Circuit, and the vote is today at 5 p.m. Should today’s vote succeed, a final vote in the Senate is expected any day. If confirmed, Abudu will preside in federal court for years to come.
Will you take a moment right now and email your senators and tell them to oppose Nancy Abudu's confirmation?
As we’ve said before, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), where Abudu serves as the Strategic Litigation Director, is a corrupt organization known for targeting its political opponents with its “hate group” label and dangerous rhetoric. The organization and its members are radical through-and-through. Recently, Thomas Webb Jurgens, a SPLC lawyer, was charged with domestic terrorism after. He, along with other demonstrators, threw Molotov cocktails and bricks at police officers and lit cars on fire at a police training center in Atlanta, Georgia. SPLC came out with a statement in support of Jurgens following his arrest. The SPLC’s actions have incited violence, including an attempted attack against Family Research Council
If her involvement with SPLC is not already enough, Abudu gave several troubling answers during her first confirmation hearing last year, such as refusing to squarely answer questions regarding how involved she was in her organization’s abuse of the judicial process through judge-shopping (illegally selecting venues for cases in order to try to select a sympathetic judge). She has said that she supports the unconstitutional idea of “preclearance,” which would require certain states to get approval from the Department of Justice before they can enact election integrity laws. She also supports changing the Senate rules and abolishing the filibuster in an attempt to unilaterally enact this federal power grab without bipartisan consensus.
After you've contacted your senators asking them to oppose Nancy Abudu's confirmation, be sure to sign FRC's calling for an investigation of SPLC?
Julie Rikelman, another Biden nominee to be a Circuit Court Judge, could also receive a vote soon. She has a long history of radical pro-abortion advocacy. Rikelman has represented abortionists in court on several occasions, most recently in the Dobbs case.
Abudu and Rikelman have clear records of radical leftist, judicial activism that indicate that they would not be capable of acting as impartial jurists.
Please reach out now to your senators and ask them to oppose these nominations and protect our courts from leftist activism!
Sincerely,
Your Friends at FRC Action
