Dear John,
The 2023 School Board Election ended yesterday, initial results have been reported, but ballots will be trickling in until next week. We wanted to give you an idea of what to expect and let you know how some of the races are looking.
Ballots had to be postmarked or received at an official ballot box by 8:00 PM last night, and county clerks are accepting ballots that meet those requirements through next Tuesday. For some races, we may not know the outcome until then.
Here's how some of our focus races look based on initial ballot-counts:
35 ORTL PAC-endorsed candidates are ahead in early counts.Springfield's Nicole De Graff is leading by over 3.5%.Krissy Hudson holds a solid lead and will be a strong pro-life voice on the Salem-Keizer School Board.Several candidates are separated by just a few percentage points, including Barbara Crawford (Oakland), Satya Chandragiri (Salem-Keizer), Michael Leone (Roseburg), Kathleen Pizzola (Fern Ridge), and Casity Troutt (Salem-Keizer).
Keep in mind that low-turnout elections like these are often decided by just a few votes. Every vote counts and the outlook may change as the week progresses.
We want to keep you updated, so expect to hear a bit more from us than usual this week.
And lastly, thank you for your support and for voting pro-life in this election.
Because everyone deserves an advocate,
Sharolyn Smith
Political Director
