Senator Bernie Sanders, Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, and Congresswoman Debbie Dingell just reintroduced Medicare for All in the U.S. House and Senate along with 112 House cosponsors and 14 Senate cosponsors!
To spread the news, Senator Sanders, Congresswoman Jayapal, and Congresswoman Dingell are holding a press conference on the need for Medicare for All right now — and they're joined by other members of Congress and leaders from the movement, including our very own Deborah Burger, RN and President of National Nurses United.
The need for Medicare for All has never been more dire. For three years, we've watched as the pandemic disproportionately affected low-income communities of color who lack sufficient health coverage and suffer from preventable preexisting conditions, increasing risk of serious illness. And we've continued to see millions of people lose their employer-sponsored health insurance when they needed health care the most.
Medicare for All is the best solution to our health care crisis. But as it stands, we don't have the support needed to pass this bill. We need folks like you to join our call for Congress to support Medicare for All.
Our momentum is strong. More than half of the House Democratic Caucus has cosponsored Medicare for All, and we have the support of everyday families across the country.
We've been preparing for this moment for years, and now, we have the opportunity to organize across the country, influence Congress, and create a wave of grassroots power that's impossible to ignore. By joining together, we can build a mass movement of people across the country calling on Congress to guarantee health care as a human right.
Thank you for supporting this movement.
