Dear NRDC Activist,
Climate sabotage. That's one way to describe the Willow Project — ConocoPhillips' massive and illegally approved expansion of oil drilling in the Arctic.
As scientists plead for us to move away from fossil fuels, the disastrous Willow Project risks setting our climate ablaze by locking us into millions of metric tons of new carbon pollution... just so that another oil giant can line its pockets.
We must stop ConocoPhillips.
That's why today I'm urging you to join a new pressure campaign focused on ConocoPhillips.
Add your name now: Demand that Ryan Lance, ConocoPhillips' CEO, put an end to the Willow Project and stop sacrificing the Arctic, its wildlife, and our future.
Believe me: we know that asking ConocoPhillips to reconsider this huge drilling project may seem like a tall order. But there's no denying that we are powerful when we come together to fight for our planet.
We can put an end to the illegally approved Willow Project and climate-busting oil development across all our public lands. Will you join our call?
Send your letter now and let ConocoPhillips know that we won't stop until the Willow Project is out of the Arctic region for good. It only takes two minutes!
What's ironic is that ConocoPhillips publicly acknowledges greenhouse gas emissions are driving up global temperatures. The company even says they support the Paris Agreement, which sets a goal to hold the global temperature increase under 1.5°C as a response to climate change.
They think they can pay lip service to climate change while pushing forward a plan that could potentially make Willow the largest oil development project on public lands and the biggest new oil field in Alaska in decades.
Don't let them get away with it.
Fight back by insisting that ConocoPhillips reconsider the Willow project — because it threatens us all with the raging wildfires, devastating floods, and catastrophic storms that come from unchecked climate change.
We all play a part in the fate of our planet.
But right now, one person holds a huge amount of power to slam the brakes on an enormous, climate-torching fossil fuel project. And that's Ryan Lance, CEO of ConocoPhillips.
He needs to hear loud and clear that we won't allow his company to destroy Arctic lands, place polar bears and countless species at risk, and usher in a dire climate future.
Will you speak out directly and urge Ryan Lance to consider his legacy to our planet and future generations? Click here to add your name to the letter!
It's critical that you write in now: construction work in the Arctic has stopped because ice roads melt during the spring and summer. No roads mean no heavy machinery. This is our chance to overwhelm them from all sides.
Your letter will join thousands of others to flood the CEO's email inbox.
Thanks for taking action now when it matters so much.
Sincerely,
Bobby McEnaney
