Since the beginning of 2023, actions have been taken to prevent
access to medication abortions (the abortion pill mifepristone), as
well as rolling back the allowed timeframes for an abortion. TRAP
laws that were already in place have been overtaken by total bans or
laws without exceptions for rape or incest.
updates on current laws by state:
- North Carolina passed a 12-week ban despite an initial veto by the
Governor.
- Ron DeSantis signed a 6-week ban into law (a timeframe that is
often BEFORE a woman finds out that she is pregnant.)
- A Texas judge, appointed by Trump and who formerly worked for a
Christian organization, issued a preliminary ruling that the F.D.A.
approval of mifepristone was not legally sound.
- 12 states now, after the Dobbs decision went into effect, have
total bans that have no exceptions for rape or incest.
This is all led by the GOP and their "pro-life" crusade.

Women are waiting until they go into sepsis to receive care.
Doctors are afraid of offering treatment.
Children are being forced to carry a pregnancy to term.
There is nothing "pro-life" about these restrictive measures. We have
to push back and keep our nation from slipping further into the wrong
