Acting to Secure our Southern Border

President Biden's utter refusal to secure our southern border has led to an unprecedented national security and humanitarian catastrophe which continues to escalate. His open-border policies endanger our communities, empower drug cartels and undercut our efforts to combat illegal immigration. That's why my House GOP colleagues and I passed H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act. This measure restores our nation's sovereignty and the rule of law. It restarts border wall construction, ends "catch and release" and deploys new border and maritime security technologies at ports of entry. It also strengthens and streamlines the asylum process and increases the number of border patrol agents. Click here to learn more.

Addressing our Looming Debt Crisis

As America's debt limit rapidly approaches, the financial health of our nation and the global economy hangs in the balance. Reckless government spending by the Biden administration has led to record-high inflation, soaring interest rates and a staggering $31.4 trillion national debt — larger than our entire U.S. economy. President Biden has refused to negotiate and find a solution to avoid economic calamity. In my latest Florida Politics op-ed, I point out that House Republicans are the only ones who have offered a responsible plan to address our looming debt crisis and instill fiscal discipline. Kathia will be recognized at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., and her work will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for one year. Congratulations!

@RepFranklin Today, our team hosted the #FL18 Virtual Academy Day, where we highlighted our nation's Service Academies to teachers, administrators, and career counselors throughout the district. It was an amazing opportunity to showcase the many benefits and opportunities that these institutions offer, including world-class education, leadership training, and career opportunities. We hope everyone who attended found it informative and useful. Thanks to the teachers, administrators, and career counselors who joined us and a big shoutout to the Service Academies for their continued commitment to excellence.
