I have big news, John!

As a member of the New American Leaders fam, I want you to be one of the first people to meet our third New American Hero awardee, Congresswoman Grace Meng!

Congresswoman Meng is the kind of leader we should all aspire to be. First elected to the New York State Assembly in 2008, she quickly became a leading advocate for immigrant communities and communities of color. She then successfully ran for Congress in 2012 and became the first Asian American ever elected to Congress in New York. Since then, she has served as a champion for New Americans everywhere by introducing legislation like the New Deal for New Americans Act and passing the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act to combat anti-Asian hate. She is a true trailblazing leader and the embodiment of a New American Hero!
