It’s shameful how far behind the United States is on the issue of maternal health and mortality rates. That’s why on Mother’s Day, Sharice reintroduced legislation that will give health authorities more understanding of this issue so they can better handle it in the future.
Do you support Sharice’s bill to save the lives of mothers by lowering the maternal mortality rate? Answer now:
The high maternal mortality rates women, especially Black and Indigenous women of color, face across the country is unacceptable in 2023. We have to take steps to address them now. This bill will:
✅Establish a grant program to promote community engagement in all types of communities
✅Commission the first-ever large study of the Native American maternal health crisis and provide funding to establish the first review committee on tribal maternal mortality
✅Conduct a comprehensive review of maternal health data
✅Invest in maternal health research for organizations that serve minorities
In the richest country on Earth, the maternal mortality rate should be much lower than it is. We’re proud of Sharice’s new bill to delve into this problem. Now we want to know if you agree this legislation should be prioritized. Answer here→
