Team—
We wanted to make sure you saw the news. Today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit will hear oral arguments in a case filed by anti-abortion extremists attempting to block the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA)'s approval of mifepristone—one of two drugs used in medication abortion.
We cannot let them turn back the clock on reproductive health care. Team, we need you to take action. Click here to add your name if you agree medication abortion should be available and accessible, without restrictions. [[link removed]]

Good morning,
May 17, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit will hear oral arguments in a case filed by anti-abortion extremists attempting to block the U.S. Federal Drug Administration (FDA)'s approval of mifepristone—one of two drugs used in medication abortion. Mifepristone remains available while the case is being heard.
We are furious, team. The oral arguments May 17 are being heard by a panel of judges with a history of anti-rights rulings. The future of medication abortion in the U.S. hangs in the balance.
We shouldn't be here, at all. This case should have been thrown out a long time ago. Unnecessary restrictions on medication abortion have no basis in fact or science and they threaten the lives and health of pregnant people.
But the Center for Reproductive Rights is prepared and is fighting forward. Just last week we filed a new lawsuit on behalf of abortion providers in three states – Virginia, Montana, and Kansas – to protect access to mifepristone. Your support will be critical in the fights ahead. [[link removed]]

Anti-abortion extremists are trying to ban medication abortion for every person in the U.S.—and it is part of their larger agenda to ban all abortion care nationwide. It is going to take all of us, together, to fight forward for our essential reproductive rights. [[link removed]]
We will update you as soon as there’s more from the Fifth Circuit Court.
In solidarity,
Nancy Northup
