THERE’S A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH AMERICA’S ELECTIONS

Michele Bissonnette, Wareham, MA Town Clerk, recently retired due to concerns over elections. Recent changes to state law expanded early voting and made sending mail-in ballots easier for voters but did not increase resources for town clerk offices. 

Because of this, Michele said she was worried about keeping our elections fair and accurate and no longer wanted to have a role in them.

The Motor Voter Act established that oversight of voter lists belongs to the public, but states have made it complicated and expensive to access the data. Because of this, the inaccuracies on these lists are growing fast. We are the first organization to collect, sort, and distribute the data to the public free of charge.

2. FIXING ISSUES WITH MAIL-IN BALLOTS

Our data shows that states nationwide are experiencing issues with mail-in ballots. Some get counted too late, some include potentially invalid signatures, and others allow unmonitored dropboxes, destroying voter confidence and leaving gaping holes in the security of our elections.
