Late last week, an extremist-packed Ohio state legislature voted to refer a measure to the ballot in August that if passed, would require a 60% approval threshold for any future ballot measures to succeed in the state.

We’ve seen similar attacks in other states. Just last year we defeated Amendment C in South Dakota and Issue 2 in Arkansas — both attacks that required the same 60% supermajority for any future measures to pass.

Usually these attacks are in response to a progressive measure being passed by voters — or in an attempt to keep a future progressive issue from ever reaching the ballot. And team, this restrictive measure is no different — Ohio extremists have gone ON RECORD stating that this 60% supermajority manuever is an attempt to keep voters from protecting abortion via ballot measure as soon as this November.
