John,

The constant barrage of shootings has set off a public health crisis. Our malls, schools, and other public spaces are becoming dangerous for families. New research shows that 1 in 25 American kindergarteners won’t make it to age 40, with guns being the leading cause of death.

But while Democrats in Congress continue to push legislation to curb the effects of gun violence on our families after passing the first meaningful gun legislation in years when we had the majority, Republicans are refusing to work with us.

Which is why we need to hold them accountable.

If you’re sick and tired of “thoughts and prayers” and want more concrete action, join me in demanding Republicans step up and stop blocking common sense gun violence prevention measures. I’m looking for 5,000 signatures by Thursday night. [[link removed]]

New stats show that gun deaths among America’s kids rose 50% in the last two years. It’s not just shootings, many of the gun deaths involve accidental, self-inflicted wounds when a gun is not properly stored.

Americans don’t need “thoughts and prayers” – they need swift, bipartisan action to make communities safer.

My Democratic colleagues and I have been hard at work trying to address this crisis, and passed the first meaningful gun violence legislation in years, but now that the GOP controls the House, they don’t want to engage us on it.

Add your name to demand Republicans stop kowtowing to the gun lobby! [[link removed]]

Be well, be safe,
