Even though it’s not a presidential or midterm year, this race is critically important. Colonel Stevenson is the only Democratic Black woman running for statewide office on the ballot this year — which means we have a chance to make history right now in 2023.
Colonel Stevenson is no stranger to service. She served in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years as a J.A.G. legal officer, where she rose to the rank of Colonel and kept military families safe by prosecuting violent crime like rape and incest. When she returned home to Kentucky, she continued to deliver for military families, providing legal services to veterans who could not afford an attorney.
Born and raised in Kentucky, Colonel Stevenson brings those same values of service to one’s community while representing Louisville in the state House of Representatives, where she continues to advocate for working families and Kentuckians’ rights. We know she will bring that same spirit to the Attorney General’s office, fighting for Kentuckians and holding bad actors accountable as the People’s Lawyer.
Democratic AGs truly are “The People’s Lawyers” and DAGA is the only party committee devoted to electing more of them. Since 2016, we’ve won two-thirds of our targeted races, and we can't stop now – will you chip in today?
