Dear John,
Yes, folks, child labor is making a comeback in America.
Why? Corporate greed.
Arkansas will no longer require 14- and 15-year-olds to get a work permit before taking a job -- a process that verified their age and required permission from a parent or guardian.
In Ohio, GOP legislators are working overtime on a bill that would let companies make children work until 9pm on school nights.
Minnesota Republicans would really like to see 16-year-olds working in construction, evidently.
Meanwhile, 14-year-olds in Iowa could soon be operating dangerous machinery and working in meat coolers.
Make no mistake, Republicans are pushing these changes in state after state on behalf of their corporate backers. It’s a coordinated campaign to erode national standards, making it easier for companies to exploit and profit off of children.

Since 2015, child labor violations have risen nearly 300%. Today, the Department of Labor is investigating over 600 cases of illegal child labor in America.
So what can be done to stop this madness?
In our video, I talk about a number of ways we can fight back to keep children from being exploited -- from funding the Department of Labor to fining violators and holding corporations responsible for their supply chains.
