In the last few days those who want to bring No Labels down and deny American voters a choice are trying to surround us.
Hi Friend,
As a Marine Corps general said during the Korean War, "We've been looking for the enemy for several days now, we've finally found them. We're surrounded. That simplifies our problem. . .”
In the last few days those who want to bring No Labels down and deny American voters a choice are trying to surround us. They will have no more success than did those who took on the Marines.
First, the local Democratic party in Arizona last month filed a baseless lawsuit to try to kick us off the 2024 voting ballot.
Second, a partisan secretary of state in Maine yesterday sent a letter claiming No Labels is “misleading” voters about our work there.
And now we have learned from reliable sources that several current and former Democratic elected officials and ad consultants are developing a research war room to find any pretext for charges that No Labels is violating our status as a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization.
We can assure you, our supporters, that No Labels has not and will not take any action that is not legal and honorable. Not only do we consult our attorneys about every move we make, but we then step back and make a judgement that the reality and the appearance are right.
These attacks are simply to throw sand in the gears of No Labels’ 2024 insurance project. They aim to intimidate us in the hopes we’ll stop our work to provide a choice tens of millions of Americans so clearly want.
In the last few weeks, most of the attacks on us have come from the Democratic establishment. Soon, as No Labels starts to qualify in more states, the extreme right will increase the intensity of their campaign against us. Both extremes will use the same tactics of spreading rumors and innuendo, planting thinly or anonymously sourced stories and filing baseless lawsuits to disrupt our ballot access efforts. The greater their efforts, the more we should be confident that we are doing the right thing.
We won’t slow down, because we know we’re speaking for America’s vast commonsense majority. We’ve got the numbers and history on our side.
Thank you for believing in No Labels and for believing America can and must do better.
Best,
Admiral Dennis C. Blair
