Jack, for nearly 11 years, the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program has protected thousands of undocumented young immigrants from deportation.

Instead of living in the shadows, DACA recipients have been able to contribute more fully to their communities in the only place they have called home. Recipients have pursued education and careers, served in the military and on the frontlines of the pandemic, and cared for their loved ones.

When you make a contribution to the DACA Application Fund, you’re helping a young person thrive without fear of deportation. Please contribute $5—or whatever is meaningful to you—to the DACA Application Fund today.

Relentless advocacy from undocumented youth and their allies has kept the program alive, amid Congressional inaction and despite a growing white supremacist, anti-immigrant minority. However, our opposition is well-funded and determined to end the program. Advocates expect DACA's future to soon be determined by the Supreme Court.

This continued legal threat leaves the lives of DACA recipients, DACA-eligible youth, and their families in uncertainty and dread. Without DACA, undocumented youth in most states will not be able to hold a job, acquire a driver’s license or other government-issued IDs, receive financial aid or in-state tuition, and more. That’s why it's so important that we enable as many current DACA recipients as possible to renew now and not fall out of status.

Daily Kos has once again teamed up with United We Dream to help applicants cover the $495 cost of DACA renewal fees. In 2022, we supported 600 young people thanks to grassroots contributions from readers like you, Jack. This year, we're hoping to help even more people.

DACA was never supposed to be permanent. But until Congress takes action, we must do all we can to protect our communities ourselves. 100% of the proceeds will go toward covering the $495 cost of DACA renewal fees for immigrant youth. Please donate what you can today.
